Fruit Ninja HD - Halfbrick Studios

Fruit Ninja HD is one of the best casual games available on the iPad. The Fruit Ninja series developed by Halfbrick Studios also has iPhone versions (both full version and lite version) in addition to the iPad versions (full and lite versions). I personally suggest to skip the lite versions altogether and going straight for the full versions, because it's so much fun. I'm using an iPad 2 to test the game and I really like the great gameplay experience it offers.

When you start the game you are greeted with a nice bright screen and up-beat music. You can then browse the latest news or look at more games by Halfbrick Studios. You also have the option to open up OpenFeint to see your account, leaderboards and much more. Before you start a game, you can change your setting by going into the "Dojo". You can then change your blade or background to suit your needs.

If you want to start playing, you can choose multiplayer (on the device or online) or you can start a one person game. From there, you have even more options, either classic, zen or arcade style mode. When you start one of the games, you literrally slice fruit with your finger to try and grab the top score. As if that were not enough, you also get facts about fruits after every round.

The latest update not only fixes bugs from the previous version, but also improves the graphics and adding the News button. The Halfbrick team also promises great future updates coming in this year. So far their updates have been solid, but I am expecting some better ones soon.
Looking at the app as a whole, it is very fun and entertaining. The only thing it needs is bigger and more innovative update. I have even thought about having a season version to get fans excited about Fruit Ninja. So, have fun slicing fruits this holiday weekend!
