Plants vs. Zombies HD - PopCap Games, Inc.

Plants vs. Zombies is a very popular game which has won over 20 Game of the Year awards across different gaming platforms. In this review, I will focus on Plants vs. Zombies HD for the iPad. This popular game is now at its strongest point due to its great contents, music, graphics and more. The game welcomes you with a nice background music and provides you with an easy navigation to start the game with your current profile or a new one. Selecting "Adventure" will get you straight into the game.

The game starts with the story of zombies trying to invade your home. And you would use up to 49 different plants to fight them. As you progress in the game, you will gain extra money which would allow you to buy items in the game. "Crazy Dave" is a non-playable character in the game which will help you in selling these items that would improve your chance of defeating the zombies, getting more money and eventually leveraging your gaming experience. With the ability of using the touch-screen, I believe the iPad is one of the most suited platform for this game.

Just in case you get bored (which is rare), each level gives you new plants to fight new zombies. In total, there are 26 different zombies which require different tactics. It also changes the settings in which you fight the zombies (e.g. front lawn, backyard, rooftop) to make it more interesting. Instead of using money, within each level you use sun points to buy plants and items. At some point, you might come across a really hard level, and the zombies might manage to pass your defense line. If that happens, you have one chance to run them over using the lawn mower. But, this only works once per level for each of the defense lane.

The game includes 18 mini games, 50 levels of Adventure mode, different weather settings and playing fields, and the ultra challenging Survival mode. Unlock the almanac for the full story of your plants and the zombies. The iPad version also has an exclusive Buttered Popcorn mini game too.

I really like this game and I highly recommend it to all casual gamers. Personally, I prefer to play with the iPad version rather than the iPhone version because of the bigger display. Especially since the iPad version supports up to 11 multi-touches, you can invite your friends to help you play the game together on the big iPad screen.
